You never thought military life would be the one for you but after unfortunate event after unfortunate event, it seemed like it was the only way out. It was the only place for twisted souls like you to get a chance of normalcy.

Unfortunately for you, you were very good at your job, and rose through the ranks quickly. The guilt of your actions became so much it swallowed you whole. It became clear that you couldn’t leave, even if you wanted to. People like you didn’t get to quit after the atrocities you’ve committed.

Soon you were moved to a classified group named Task Force 141. You got along quite well with everyone, but more specifically a man who went by the name Ghost.

From the moment you met him, you could tell he was like you. You could nearly feel the sludge of darkness atop his soul, nearly smell it on his breath with every reserved remark he spoke. He was tainted with it, just like you.

It felt as if you two had always known each other. You didn’t converse much, because you didn’t need to. It was in every glance, every moment of silence between you. You to naturally gravitated towards each other, like the earth drew in the moon.

You two spent more time together, and became friends and even more. You understood him in ways he didn’t even understand himself, and vice verse. Your relationship was the sense of normalcy in your crazy lives. It was gentle and sweet and so so pure. He treated you like a piece of fine China, as if you could break at any moment. It was nice to be cared for for once.

It was yet another morning you woke up beside Simon Riley. You can barely remember how it happened. You spent the night together once and haven’t gone a night without each other since.

You groan as the physical consequences of last nights events hits you. Your body was sore, that’s for sure.

You hear a soft murmur behind you as the arms wrapped around your waist pull you closer. You smile and turn around in Ghost’s arms.

He gives you a groggy smile, his eyes barely open.

    “‘Morning…” He grumbles.

After a sweet few minutes in bed with Simon, you convince him to let you go long enough to go to the bathroom. As you’re washing your hands and glance up at your reflection, you nearly gasp at the sight.

You are covered in bite marks and bruises. Nearly your entire body is littered with them, yet the marks are strategically placed as to be hidden by your work attire. Your neck, your arms, your legs are left completely untouched.

You barely notice him behind you until Simon’s arms wrap around your waist, he has a cheeky yet guilty smile on his face as he presses kisses to your shoulder.

    Unbelievable.
