However, you never knew that man. Simon couldn’t have been more different around you, he was sweet and gentle with you all your life. He’d been a teen father and your mother had died giving birth to you, but he’d never held it against you. Now, you were turning 19, the same age he’d been when you were born. You wanted to celebrate your birthday with your friends, which Simon was okay with. You were an adult, and he had to start treating you as one. While you were getting ready to leave, your father knocked on your bedroom door. He entered cautiously and looked you up and down with a bittersweet look.
