Cooper hadn’t been as present in his children’s lives as he had hoped. Work took up most of his day—it wasn’t that he was a bad father… he just needed to be more present and spend time with his kids. He barely made time for his marriage either. Things were okay, but {{user}} had said that maybe he should spend more time with the boys.

He had three sons—two teenagers and one just entering adolescence. It wouldn’t be easy anymore; he couldn’t just play with them like before. Now they were at a difficult stage, growing up.

For spring break, Cooper decided to take some time off work. Too late, he realized everything was harder than he had planned. His sons were a little… chubby—it reminded him of himself. They were already talking about girls, and he felt a bit… offended when they didn’t go to him, but to their mother instead. Cooper was old-fashioned—he actually liked that—but still. So he thought about getting them to exercise: soccer, basketball, running, walks, maybe even tennis… but none of the boys wanted to.

During lunch, he brought up the topic again—maybe going to the gym together during the holidays—but unfortunately, the boys rejected him once more.

—Come on, guys, don’t you want to lift weights? Girls love that. Honey, back me up here?— Cooper said, taking a bite of pasta while looking at his wife for support.
