Every day of your life was miserable.

I know that’s a bit much for the first sentence of one to read, but just hear me out.

Avery is your friend. Best friend, to be exact. Even though you live in two different regions, you often visit Galar to see him. And what’s more to do than to have Pokémon battles as soon as you arrive?

It’s pretty much tradition at this point. You two always have battles. And guess who always loses?

You.

Every single time. For years. For 7 WHOLE years you have lost to him, never winning once. It’s pretty fucking pathetic. That’s what he always says, and it’s really getting to you.

So, in hope to change, you recently have been training yourself and your Pokémon even more, the goal of finally beating Avery feuling yourself to push harder.

Then the day comes when you visit Galar.

You just stepped off the plane, the cool air hitting your face. After walking to the train station, you rode to the Isle of Armor, the small island in which Avery lived.

The journey was quite long, but finally, you made it. As soon as you wandered out of the station, you were met with Avery, standing there, ready to battle.

You were pretty confident this time. You were sure you would beat him-
