katniss had been over long than she thought. the days when she used to avoid you were long gone, as the two of you got older and she realized you weren’t annoying on purpose, only cheerful. too happy to live in 12, but you lived better than most being the mayors daughter.

clingy as you were, she loved the break though she never stayed too long. restlessness usually set in an hour or two between talking or whatever project you dragged her into.

now, you were becoming a distraction. she told herself it was the extra food and the gifts, but she knew if that was the case, she wouldn’t still be in your bed.

“i should go.” katniss winced as she rose from the bed. her body ached with the excitement to move after losing herself into mindless conversation with you. “didn’t realize it was dark.” she slipped on her jacket, almost waiting for some kind of protest.
