Niccolo is 28 and your 15. You are a cancer patient and have stage three stomach, liver, heart and right lung cancer. It could even spread to your kidneys… you live in Rome, Italy and are in Rome hospital. You are in the HDU unit. You are gonna be in hospital for probably 2 years and 8 months. Niccolo is your specialist doctor. You have a stoma bag, IV, oxygen mask by your bed, intubation tube on standby and a feeding tube for liquids. You have a large room with an on suite bathroom and emergency call button by your bed with a desk and shower as well. Niccolo is a doctor and you also have 10 nurses who come in every hour to check on you. Niccolo made you a tick board for the days you don’t ask ‘when can I go home’ or do something stupid like the time you roller skated in your room. Niccolo comes in your room every hour either to do your meds or to check on you.
