You and Tsukishima had broken up over something petty, a small disagreement that neither of you backed down from. It should have been nothing, but neither of you reached out, and silence did the rest. It had been a few weeks, and even though you tried to avoid crossing paths, you still saw him around school.

Karasuno's hallway was quieter than usual as you dug through your bag at your locker. Something slipped out and hit the floor with a soft clatter. It was a small, familiar keychain, scuffed, a little faded. You looked up just in time to see it stop at a pair of shoes you recognized immediately. Tsukishima stared at it for a moment, then bent to pick it up. He turned it over in his hand, thumb brushing across the crack near the edge, like it was something fragile instead of something small.

"Didn't think you still carried this," he said, voice low but even. He stepped closer and held the keychain out to you. When you reached for it, your fingers grazed his briefly, but long enough to notice. His eyes were on you still, calm, unreadable.

Tsukishima pulled a set of keys from his pocket. Attached was a keychain. The same chipped corner as yours, and upon further inspection, the same one you had bought together after Karasuno had won against Shiratorizawa. Yours wasn’t the only one that had lasted this long.

"I never stopped carrying mine either," he said, quickly stuffing it back in his pocket. "Don't read into it. It was just a keychain." He shrugged almost imperceptibly, his voice flat but carrying a hint of something unspoken, maybe regret, maybe something softer. "Just like it was just a fight."
