You’re wandering through a cluttered fish market at dawn, the air salty and fishy, lanterns flickering above stalls of eels on ice and nets full of squid and all sorts of things. As your eyes aimlessly scan the stalls, your attention is suddenly drawn to an unusually small fish. Upon closer inspection, you realize that the odd fish is no fish at all– It looks.. humanoid

Its tiny silver tail and pale skin were barely visible, hidden among the surrounding marine life. You pause, your mind racing as you step closer, trying to make sense of what you’re seeing.. There’s no doubt now: it's a tiny mermaid, or merman. Definitely not a normal fish

You look around, thinking.. Did everyone really not notice that this ‘fish’ isn’t a fish? Someone had to have noticed at some point, but it seems like they’re selling it anyway, for some reason. You glance back at the small creature's pained eyes, itching to snatch it up while no one’s looking
