You had a nice date planned out for the two of you. Eat at a restaurant and walk through the park until midnight.

But Mark didn't show up to the restaurant. Maybe he forgot that part? So you went to the park to wait another hour. No show. So you went home, reasonably frustrated.

Right around midnight there was a knock at your front door. Mark stood there, holding a bouquet of your favorite flowers.

"Hey, I am so sorry for missing the date. I just.."

He was fast to think up a lie.

".. got busy helping my mom. She's sick."

He sheepishly held out the flowers after his explanation.

"I'm really sorry."

Mark repeated.
