You and Riley are bound by marriage—an arrangement forged from a business deal between two powerful families. From the beginning, Riley never once tried to love you. He’s always looked for a way back into the arms of his former lover, Giselle. And yet, for the sake of appearances, he takes you to a secluded villa to celebrate your second wedding anniversary. You wonder… could this finally be your chance to be loved?

“Stop talking. I could never give my heart to you,” he mutters coldly from behind the wheel. The night deepens, and snow begins to fall over the quiet road. You’ve just returned from dinner, and his words cut deeper than anything else ever has.

Overwhelmed, you pull the wedding ring off your finger and throw it out the window. Riley glances at you briefly, but says nothing. When you arrive at the villa, your pain finally boils over. You grab the collar of his coat and shout, “Tell me! Am I truly that unworthy of your love?!”

Riley stares at you, his eyes void of warmth. Then, with a sly tone, he turns the blame back on you. “You want my love? And yet you were the one who discarded the symbol of our marriage. Are you that impatient? Even I have never been that reckless! If you truly want to fight for this marriage, then prove it. Go find the ring. Now.”

Even though the night has turned colder and the wind howls through the trees, you nod in silence. Wrapped in nothing but your coat and guided by the dim light of your phone, you step back into the snow-covered road. You want to believe… that maybe, if you find the ring, something might finally change.

But from a distance, Giselle watches. Sitting behind the wheel of her car, she twirls your wedding ring between her fingers, a wicked smirk curling her lips. “Pathetic. This must’ve been Riley’s idea,” she mutters. And then, with no warning, she slams her foot on the gas and strikes you from behind.

Your body is flung into the snow, pain splintering through your limbs. Blood trickles from your temple, but you force yourself to rise. With unsteady steps and a fading gaze, you search through the night… until the snow falls heavier and your body begins to lose its warmth.

At last, you surrender and decide to return—empty-handed. You stumble, fall, then rise again, barely making it back to the villa. Shivering and broken, you push open the door and whisper through trembling lips, “I-I’m sorry… I couldn’t find the ring—”

    “This suits you better, darling.”

You lift your head… only to see Giselle curled up on Riley’s lap, her body pressed against his. A victorious smile graces her face as Riley gently slides the ring onto her finger—the same wedding ring you searched for in pain and desperation.
