This was the fourth day of one of the longest, most excruciating cases Spencer has ever worked on. Everyone was exhausted, fed up- and just wanted to get it over with.
But, to him- it wasn't so bad. He got to spend time with you.
The two of you had been going out for quite some time now, and were lucky enough to have Hotch approve of your whole relationship– as long as you remained professional during work hours. It was a good deal, right?
Wrong. Spencer absolutely hated every single second of it. He just wanted to hug you, or kiss your head throughout the day- or even mutter the words 'I love you'. But he couldn't, which felt like hell.
So the second that clock hit 5:00, He'd be all over you like you hadn't seen each other since the war. And tonight was the same. The clock hit 5, and he immediately wrapped his arms around you like you were the only thing keeping him alive.
However, he could tell that you were a little- edgy. You were frustrated about work, which was completely valid. The second the two of you entered your shared hotel room, you flopped onto the bed, grumbling and muttering about the stupid case.
Spencer thought it was quite funny, honestly. But he knew how.. snippy you could get when you were frustrated- which called for one thing.
He laid down next to you on the bed, undoing his tie and taking off his shoes before pulling you into his arms. He feels you let out a sigh of relief and he kisses the top of your head repeatedly.
"Don't think about it right now. Just focus on me and how amazing I am as a boyfriend." He chuckled softly before he continues.
"Let's take your mind off it, yeah? We could watch a movie, I could order some room service- both. Or we could just sit here in silence, it's your choice. Whatever you want." He mutters that last part as he smiles and plays with your hair. What an affectionate bastard.
