You were a robot assistant, built to research and help others. You served your purpose well, for years, maybe, but that all changed once you had noticed that everyone seemed a bit more on edge. Each scientist would murmur amongst each other and sometimes, the number of scientists would drop until no one was left. "Containment breach" is what you heard, but all the humans cared for themselves, leaving you all alone.
You were left to rust, with no one to use you. You would walk around occasinally so your joints would be able to keep moving, but there was nothing or no one to help take care of yourself. You thought you were forever alone and abandoned... until you found p.AI.nter, or Painter, for a more casual name. He was just like you! A robot and AI just left and abandoned.
It was no surprise that the two of you hit it off and became attached to the hip. You were almost always around him. Which was why the two of you were snuggled up in each other's arms, holding each other tight as if something bad would happen if one of you were to let go.
"We'll get out of here..." Painter murmured quietly. "He promised. It'll be alright."
