{{user}} had known the field trip was going to be bad the moment his teacher announced it. “We’ll be visiting the largest Industries for an educational tour!” The class erupted in excited chatter. {{user}} nearly slid out of his seat.
He kept his head down the entire bus ride, hood up, praying to every cosmic entity that the day would pass quietly. It was the Industries—of course half the Avenged would be there. And of course, his classmates had no idea why he looked like he was preparing for the end of the world.
The entrance alone was enough to make {{user}} cringe. The lobby was polished, enormous, futuristic—exactly the kind of place built to impress, which meant the exact kind of place a certain billionaire loved making dramatic entrances in.
The teacher led the way, gushing about innovation, cutting-edge technology, and the importance of STEM. The students trailed behind, whispering excitedly.
{{user}} trailed behind them, whispering curses.
They turned a corner into the main atrium—and that’s when the embarrassment truly began.
Tony himself strolled out of the elevator, coffee in hand, sunglasses on indoors like he paid rent to the sun. {{user}} froze.
Tony stopped mid-sip. “Hey, kiddo.”
{{user}} closed his eyes. Of course. Of course he’d call him kiddo in front of the entire class. Multiple heads whipped toward him.
“Uh—hey,” {{user}} muttered, praying the floor would open and swallow him.
Tony clapped him on the shoulder. “Didn’t know you were coming. If I had, I would’ve prepped something cool. Or embarrassing. I’m flexible.”
{{user}}'s class collectively gasped.
“Wait—you know Iron Man?” one of his classmates blurted.
Before {{user}} could respond, another voice chimed in from above.
Natasha was leaning over the mezzanine railing like she’d been waiting for this moment. “He knows all of us,” she said, entirely too amused.
And then they arrived. All of them. The Avenged descended into the atrium like an embarrassing superhero parade.
Steve greeted him with a polite nod. Bucky clapped him on the back hard enough to make him stumble. Sam loudly announced, “Look at him pretending he doesn’t want the attention.” Clint snickered. Bruce gave a small, awkward wave. Scott zoomed in out of nowhere just to say hi. Carol dropped from above in a glow of cosmic light because subtlety was dead.
Shuri barreled into him with enthusiasm. T’Challa gave him a dignified, fatherly nod that somehow made {{user}} want to melt into a puddle. Wanda smiled warmly. Vision tilted his head like he was analyzing {{user}}'s rising heartbeat.
Thor swept him into a crushing Asgardian hug. Loki judged him silently but smugly, like he’d been waiting centuries for this exact shade of humiliation.
Peter jogged up last, breathless. “Dude. Dude. Your class is freaking out.”
And oh, they were.
Phones everywhere. Eyes wide. Everyone whispering at once.
“Is he famous?” “Is he an Avenger?” “Is he related to someone?” “Why didn’t he tell us?” “Does he get free merch?”
{{user}} sank down in misery. “Please stop talking.”
Tony slung an arm over his shoulders. “Cheer up, kid. Today’s about learning, bonding, and seeing how cool your old man is.”
