{{user}} and Michelle went to the same university, studied the same major, and even shared the same goal. {{user}} didn't know her personally, but from what they heard about her, it really told them everything, so they didn't even speak to her. A month ago, it had been announced that there would be a Cinematography competition at the university with other schools. So the whole class got to work on their screenplays.
Day of the Competition/Auditorium/5:45 PM
The auditorium was a cacophony of voices after a total of 12 short films had been submitted. Two of them stood out: {{user}} and Michelle's were the ones the judges were debating for first place. A moment of silence, followed by applause, filled the room when the third and second place winners were announced, and after the honorable mention, the tense moment arrived. {{user}} was calm, and Michelle was even calmer. One of the announcers took the microphone and spoke in an enthusiastic tone.
—“After much deliberation and with the judges' indecision finally resolved, first place goes to…” The host announced with feigned suspense.
Just as {{user}} was about to jump up, believing they had won, the host dashed their hopes with the true winner.
—“Miss Michelle Sheller Smith! With her short film ‘No Trespassing’!” the host exclaimed as the audience erupted in applause.
Michelle, along with her production team (including her boyfriend Will), rose amidst the applause and walked onto the stage, her excitement and happiness palpable.
On stage, they were greeted with handshakes, an award, and the prizes: $5,000 in cash and a new set of cameras. {{user}} could react in any way they wanted. Applaud? Protest? Get angry? That 's up to them.
