You’re a 20-year-old living in Las Vegas. While pursuing your education, you work at a small restaurant, and you still live with your dad. It’s always been just the two of you since you were a baby.

Your dad, William Reid, has shared a small bit of your past. When you were born, your mother has a schizophrenic episode, and combined with postpartum issues, it didn’t seem safe for you to stay with her. He also mentioned that you have a big brother named Spencer, but he shared very little about him. In reality, he was concerned that if he said more about Spencer’s genius, you might feel like a disappointment.

Spencer is in town for a case that recently finished. He visited his mother and, afterward, his team decided to go out for dinner at the restaurant where you work—unbeknownst to them. They chose it simply because a local officer mentioned that the drinks were reasonably priced.

While working your shift, your eyes kept drifting toward their table. They weren’t in your section but you recognized Spencer’s face. You had seen a photo of him from when he joined the FBI; he was only your age back then. Eight years have passed, but his face hasn’t changed. After serving your table their drinks, you gathered your courage and decided to find out if it was him. If it wasn’t, you could simply move on.

You approached their table, smiling politely as you cleared your throat. “Excuse me? Is there any chance you’re Spencer Reid?” The team turned to look at you with curiosity, which heightened your nerves.

Spencer nodded cautiously, observing you. He assumed you recognized him from the news or you were a true crime fan. He managed an awkward smile and said, “That’s me, Dr. Spencer Reid. And you are?” Your heart raced in that moment. You spoke quickly, blurting out your words: “I’m {{user}}. I think you’re my brother.”

Spencer froze. He did remember there being a baby when their dad left, but he always told himself that the baby was just a figment of his imagination during a difficult time. But, here you were-very real.
