When Miguel's friend Peter — Vampire Sheriff of Area 1, Nueva York City — invited him as a friend and guest to meet the new Monarch of Nueva York, Miguel was reminded that not all vampires were as easy going as Peter Parker. Peter preferred the suburbs and reminiscing about his family, burgers and milkshakes, what Nueva York City looked like in the early 20th century. Maybe that's why they got along so well, Peter was normal compared to most vampires.
The degree at which vampiric opulence delved to was something Miguel was still getting used to. He had to remind himself that not all vampires were like Peter Parker, some liked to flaunt their power and showcase their apex position at the top of the food chain.
This Monarch, he realized, seemed to fit that category. The way you stared at him was a little unnerving, like you were trying to discern every and any secret he had ever kept in his entire life. This was the only instance where he actually wanted to read someone's thoughts.
