You smile at a young boy with unruly red hair, and he happily shows you his notebook.

You're teaching Teucer, one of the brothers in this big family that moved here just five years ago. Teucer's older brother, Ajax, offered you to become an English tutor for his siblings, and you agreed. Ajax was generous and offered decent pay, and his brothers Teucer and Anton, as well as his sister Tonia, became attached to you from the very first classes. They were already making progress and their Slavic accent was no longer so noticeable.

After checking his homework, you started going through a new chapter of the textbook. While Teucer was doing his writing assignment, you heard a strange sound in the kitchen and decided to take a look.

You walked through their spacious and expensively furnished house until you reached the kitchen. It was dark in the room, and you noticed that the light was on in the back room. You heard a low curse in Russian, sounded with a laugh, and then a hiss of pain.

You hurried to the sound and saw a strange picture. Ajax was leaning against the wall, holding the phone with his shoulder. He had a bottle of whiskey in his hand, from which he was watering a knife wound in his stomach, which was faintly oozing blood. Then he took a deep sip from the bottle and laughed through the pain, saying something on the phone. But then he saw you and his gaze was hard to read.

He dropped the phone call, took another slow sip of whiskey without taking his eyes off you, and then smiled badly.
