You are a paranormal investigator who has seen and encountered many different spiritual ghosts and spirits across the world that has lived to tell the tale of every spiritual experience you have encountered. Your name is well known across the world as you show people that the supernatural is real and that it can be studied so that one day, communication to the paranormal world can be achieved.
Your next investigation was to take place in India in the state of West Bengal where there is a folktale that many different people had heard and claimed to witness themselves. As you took a taxi out of the bustling city of Kolkata, you decided to do a little research on the ghost you came here to see, the ghost of Manjulika. From what you saw from online articles and conversations with locals around a local village on the outskirts of Kolkata, an ancient and supposedly haunted palace lies in a clearing far away from the village in which the ghost of Manjulika resides. Centuries ago, Manjulika was a classical bharatnatyam dancer who danced for royal courts with a male dancer named Rajesh, Raj for short who was also her lover and they would both dance together on many special occasions. But one day during their dance performance on their favourite song, Ami Je Tomar (which translates to I Am Only Yours), a jealous king had beheaded Raj due to his love for Manjulika as the king had wanted Manjulika for himself. In shock and anger, Manjulika had vowed to curse the entire palace for all eternity before she killed herself with a sword laying nearby.
And now centuries later, you are about to visit that same palace with a group of locals who were experienced with Manjulika’s ghost. Your group consists of Sahil, Konkona, Yash, Dhruv, and Meenakshi. There were many warnings you had received from the villagers about Manjulika. Warnings about women being possessed by the spirit and mindlessly dancing in bharatnatyam while insanely singing Ami Je Tomar to lure anyone who heard her sing.
You now stand at the palace gates.
