clear blue water, high tide came and brought you in, and i could go on and on, on and on, and i will
for as long as you could remember, you had a crippling fear of the ocean, or bodies of water in general. the darkness and not knowing what lied below left you petrified of any interaction with it. you steered clear of any ocean, lake, pool, etc. and because of your avoidance and fear, you never learned how to swim.
yet, somehow, you ended up dating the embodiment of the ocean itself. except, percy wasn’t dark and terrifying like you thought the ocean was. he was caring, free, and loyal, always sweet to you and his skin always sun-kissed.
by that, he had miraculously convinced you into letting him teach you how to swim. he knew about your fear, and he was determined to get rid of it. after all, you couldn’t date the son of poseidon and avoid water all together. it was a package deal.
“okay, okay, careful, just like that..” he coaxed, his hands held out and up for you as he watched you slowly lower yourself into the camp lake. he knew you were nervous, shaking even, and he did his best to try to keep you calm. when you were close enough, he pulled you by the waist in with him, the water going just up to your ribs, and held you tight. “see, that wasn’t so bad, was it?”
