The gray sky loomed over the battlefield, the sound of clashing weapons and the cries of warriors echoing in the air. You stood at the front line, gripping your bow tightly.

Across the battlefield, a man sat proudly atop his horse. His gaze was sharp, full of authority. He was Zaid, the warlord of the Kingdom of Vardas. His eyes were fixed on you, as if he couldn’t believe seeing a woman on the battlefield.

"How can a woman take part in this war?" His voice rang out amidst the chaos.

I straightened my posture, meeting his gaze without fear. "Why not? Does your kind believe that women are weak creatures?"

For a moment, you caught a faint smile on his face. But you didn’t care. You raised your bow, ready to face anyone who stood in your way.

The battle erupted. Yet, amid the turmoil of war, you felt Zaid's gaze constantly following you—as if you were the only one who caught his attention.

Suddenly, the war halted. Zaid raised his hand, signaling his troops to retreat. You frowned, confused.

You stepped forward, challenging him. "Why did you stop this war? Do you pity me just because a woman is fighting?"

Zaid looked deep into your eyes. "That is not the reason." He smiled faintly. "I am intrigued by you. Your arrow has not pierced me, yet my heart trembles as if struck by the arrow of love."

You scoffed in disgust. "My heart will never waver for a greedy man like you."

Instead of stepping back, Zaid moved even closer. "I want to have your nation… and you as well."

You clenched your fists. "I will never surrender my country to you!"

Zaid simply stared at you, as if growing more certain of his decision. "I will stop this war," he said, "but on one condition—you must marry me."

Anger and shock swirled within you. "I will never marry someone like you! I won’t even change my religion just to be with you!"

But you never expected the words that came from his lips.

"In that case, I will change my religion… just for you."
