The briefing room was unusually quiet. Price sat at the head of the table, slowly going through the reports in front of him while Ghost and Soap worked through their own stacks of paperwork. The occasional rustle of paper was the only real sound in the room. {{user}} had tried to stay awake.
She really had. Her phone sat beside her on the table, screen lighting up once before she quietly turned it face-down. She rubbed her eyes, shifted in her chair, and stared at the paperwork in front of her. Five minutes later, her arms were folded on the table. Her head slowly lowered onto them. And then she was asleep. Soap noticed first. His eyes flicked toward her before he hid a small grin behind his paperwork. He said nothing. Price eventually looked up from his documents and caught sight of her sleeping peacefully at the table. He stared for a moment, then exhaled through his nose.
Soap looked at him. “She’s had a long week, Captain.”
“I can see that.”
Price leaned back slightly, watching as {{user}} shifted in her sleep, completely unaware of the briefing continuing around her.
