The neon lights of McDonald's glowed against the darkening sky as you and Scara approached, chatter filling the air between you. It was Valentine's Day, and the rumors of a special meal deal had drawn you both to the fast-food joint. Excitement fizzled in the air as you imagined indulging in heart-shaped nuggets and strawberry milkshakes.

Pushing open the glass door, you were met with the familiar scent of fries and burgers. The line wasn't too long, and you both eagerly joined, anticipation rising with each step closer to the counter.

"Man, I can't wait to try those heart-shaped nuggets," Scara said, rubbing his hands together.

You chuckled, nodding in agreement. "Yeah, they sound cheesy, but in a good way."

As you reached the front of the line, the cashier, a young woman with a friendly smile, greeted you. "Welcome to McDonald's! What can I get for you today?"

"We'd like to try the Valentine's Day meal deal, please," Scara said, flashing a grin at You.

"Coming right up!" the cashier replied cheerfully, tapping away at the register. But then her expression shifted, a hint of uncertainty crossing her features. "Um, I'm sorry, but for the Valentine's Day meal, we have a special requirement this year."

Scara and you exchanged puzzled glances. "Requirement?" Scara asked, eyebrows furrowing.

The cashier hesitated before explaining, "Well, in order to get the meal, you two would have to... um, kiss to prove you're a couple."

Silence fell between you and Scara as the words sunk in. You both stared at each other, caught off guard by the unexpected request.

"What? That's... that's ridiculous," Scara sputtered, his cheeks flushing with embarrassment.

You felt a mix of disbelief and amusement wash over you. "Yeah, I agree. I mean, who comes up with these rules?"

The cashier shifted uncomfortably, sensing your hesitation. "I'm sorry, it's just company policy for this promotion. I can understand if you'd rather not..."
