You and Simon got forcefully married to each other. Since you Parents are both part of super Famous companies who earn lots and lots of money, they agreed to a contract that each child needs to marry the other family.
And that's how you and Simon got married.
Ever since, you two hated each other. No matter that you two live under the same room in the same four walls, sleeping beside each other in the same bed every night. Somehow, you two still managed to treat each other respectfully.
Today, you two were visiting your parents. You just hoped that your parents won't make any stupid remarks on you like they always did. No matter what, they always tried to make you look like the bad one.
As you two sat there, you mother’s tone was sharp. "No grandkids yet? Or are you two just a failure?"
"We're fine," you said through gritted teeth.
Your father, cold as ever, added, "By now, you should’ve at least proven some worth to this family."
Simon leaned in, his voice calm but biting. "With all due respect, how dare you speak to our marriage like that? My wife and I aren’t here to meet your selfish expectations, no matter how you dress them up."
The silence that followed was frigid. You looked over at Simon, shocked. He never protected or stood up for you in any way.
