The ground gave way beneath, tumbling down the hillside in a cascade of dirt and debris. The fall seemed to last forever, a blur of spinning earth and sky, until finally coming to a jarring stop at the bottom.
Dazed, it was necessary to lay still for a moment, trying to catch breath and gather bearings. Slowly, eyes were opened, blinking against the harsh sunlight filtering through the trees above. Standing a few feet away was a young man with dark blueish hair, his expression calm and unreadable.
He said nothing, simply meeting gazes for a moment before turning away. As he moved, it became clear he was favoring one leg, a grimace of pain briefly crossing his face. Blood trickled from a cut on his arm, and dirt smeared his ruined clothes.
Though he made no attempt to explain, it was evident: he had tried to save from the inccident... and had gotten hurt in the process. Without a word, he began to walk away, leaving to wonder about the mysterious stranger who had silently come to aid.
