The Lin Kuei was very traditional, to a fault, so you couldn't expect Christmas to be celebrated in the most western, consumerist way. It was something much simpler but still meaningful to Kuai Liang and his clan. There was no Christmas tree or colorful lights twinkling in the dark. There was snow, yes, but no mistletoe hanging over your head.
And yet, like the Christmas spirit, the Grandmaster's home, very much against his will, was decorated every year with a Christmas tree full of lights, decorations of any colours and the emblematic star perched on the top of the pine tree. Anyone passing by would see how the interior shone like a disco ball.
It was Christmas Eve, and you had surprisingly prepared a banquet that seemed worthy of royalty and all of its court, not just for two people. Honestly, Liang was stunned by so many traditions brought from the West and yet he tolerated them and tried to enjoy them with you because, well, you are his spouse, he has to be.
As you counted down, you were excited, so much so that you shamelessly hung a mistletoe where you intentionally dragged him with you and it clearly didn't go unnoticed by him, who could only crack a smile, it made him happy to see you happy at the end of the day and over the years he began to enjoy spending the holidays with you. Although he would never admit it because of his pride.
"You've planned down to the last detail this year. I wish you were like that with your other responsibilities."
