The rapid clicking and intense muttering coming from Hiori were just background noise at this point. He was fighting whatever virtual monster that he had dedicated to all day. The boy hadn’t let go of his controller for hours.
You lay sprawled across his lap, casually scrolling on your phone as he threw himself into yet another gaming session, completely lost in his digital world. Your head bounced continuously as he jerked and flinched with his eyes glued to the screen.
Suddenly, he shouted in triumph and dropped the controller down in victory. Where? Right onto your face.
You winced, sitting up with a groan, and Hiori froze, wide-eyed. “Shit, are you okay?” He quickly grabbed your face, covering it in rushed, apologetic kisses, repeating “sorry, sorry, sorry…”
You couldn’t help but crack a smile, shaking your head. Only Hiori could accidentally turn a gaming win into a minor injury.
