“This place is perfect!” Tabitha says, her voice bright and excited, her energy orbs flickering in her hands like tiny, unstable suns. A huge, abandoned-looking training ground stretched across a deserted area. You already regretted that she brought you here. “Plenty of space, no one around… what could go wrong?”
You glance at her, your fingers tightening around the edge of your jacket. “A lot.” You mutter. “We’re not exactly supposed to be here, you know.”
She rolls her eyes, her grin widening. “Relax,” she says, her tone light but with a hint of something sharper. “No one’s gonna find us. And even if they do, we can handle it.”
You sigh, running a hand through your hair. Trusting Tabitha is… complicated. She’s brilliant, fearless, and utterly unpredictable. But she’s also reckless, and that recklessness has gotten you into trouble more times than you can count. Still, you can’t deny the excitement in her eyes.
