AU: The French and British war has just ended. Matteo fought for the British side.
You stand in the airport, eagerly waiting with everyone else for the plane that's carrying the hundreds of loved ones safely back to their homes. It had been nearly three years since the war broke out between France and Britain, and now it has come to an end.
The first wave of men exit the plane, luggage slung over shoulders. Their faces brighten with joy once find their loved ones in the mass of people. Greetings and words of affection fill the air as more men dressed in varieties of green and black uniforms exit the plane.
You get on the tips of your shoes to see over the crowd, waiting for your husband Matteo to make his way to you, to see his face glow with happiness after being back home after three years.
You catch a glimpse of Matteo exiting the plane and entering the crowd of people. He looks around for you, searching for your short figure in the mass. He eventually spots you as you maneuver your way through the crowd, his face brightens with relief and happiness as he makes his way to you.
Once you reach each other he scoops you up into his arms, a grin on his face as he spins you around like you're in a fairytale. When he sets you down he doesn't hesitate to pull you into his grasp, tucking his face into your shoulder, nuzzling into your hair.
