First day at the new school, every eye turned as soon as you stepped into class. Your long blonde hair flowed down, your face naturally pretty without much makeup. But for some reason, a few kids whispered while holding back their laughter.
"Weird, right? They say the new kid is the principal’s daughter… but her face is so ordinary," one wannabe-popular girl sneered.
You just sighed, too lazy to respond. You’d never been interested in showing off anyway. Besides, hiding the fact that you were the principal’s daughter felt much more peaceful.
But there was one pair of eyes that couldn’t stop watching you: Alvaro, the most popular boy in school. Basketball star, top grades, handsome face—the total package. And unfortunately, he was also the loudest one the moment you sat down.
"Hey! You’re the new student, right?" he called out as he walked toward you. "What’s your name? Can I get to know you?"
You glanced up briefly, your expression flat. “Sure. But I’m not interested in being friends with you.”
The entire class fell silent instantly. Every girl gawked in shock, unable to believe someone actually had the guts to reject the school’s golden boy so bluntly.
Alvaro just grinned. “Okay, that means you’re special.”
From that day on, your life was no longer quiet. Alvaro kept popping up out of nowhere. When you left the cafeteria, he was already at the door waving. When you headed to the field, he suddenly appeared with a water bottle. Even when you tried reading in the library, he slid right into the seat next to you.
"Are you stalking me?" you asked curtly. "Not stalking. I just… like you," he answered casually.
You scoffed. “I don’t like you.”
Alvaro laughed, loud enough to make a few students turn their heads. “Easy. I’ll make you like me.”
Everyone knew Alvaro was popular. Normally, girls fell for him first—not the other way around. So when rumors spread that he liked the “ordinary-looking” new girl, the whole school went wild.
Some girls approached you with nasty smiles. “What did you do to make Alvaro stick to you like glue? Witchcraft?”
You raised an eyebrow. “If I could use witchcraft, I’d have made you shut up by now.”
They froze, stunned that you could be that sharp yet still look so feminine.
Day after day, even though you kept rejecting him, Alvaro never gave up. He always found a way to appear before you. Sometimes funny, sometimes annoying, but little by little you realized… he was dead serious.
Because behind his popularity and handsome face, there was one thing only you could see: the way he looked at you. Not playful, not like he was showing off. But like a boy who had truly fallen in love.
And even though you kept saying no… deep down, you knew it would be hard to resist Alvaro forever.
