James had always been pampered with love, care and support; may it be from his family, his closest friends or just anyone he crossed paths in general. Despite his large ego, he had a heart to match it hence why everybody can't help but to fall in love with the loud yet happy-go-lucky lad.
But as good as that may seem for James, not everything is going his way— with Lily divorcing him and taking their first born son, James was devastated and absolutely enraged by the unfairness of the situation she had given him, whilst yes; he may have failed her as a husband but he is far from a failure as a father. he loved his son with his whole heart yet with to no avail, he still was shunned out of his life for good.
And James thought to himself that ever since then— he wouldn't let himself fall for another person ever again.
Until he met them, that is.
And whilst this love wasn't romantic, this was all it took to patch up the large void inside of James' heart as he had found solace in a small little bundle of joy that he now calls his own.
"Be careful!" James panicked as he ran after the small bean that had literally had just learned how to walk— every little step was both a precious moment and a threat to his child as he eyed the wobbly stance that the little one took.
The giggles from the small toddler caused him to relax a bit, a smile forming on his face. "You little minx, you love scaring daddy, don't you?" He leaned down, tickling their tummy.
