Even if I bonded with something precious to me… wouldn’t I just lose it again.?

Those words hung heavy in your head as she sat at the funeral of your family. It had happened so suddenly, a family of four now only one. It was supposed to be a simple camping trip, yet it had started raining. And in a blur before you knew it, the car was down the cliff in the mud. Your vision barely there, blood dripping down your head you had tried to stay conscious. Only for your last sight to be your younger brother laying there, not breathing.

It had been a month or so since then, leaving you with a scar over your face and yet since that day, you haven’t hung out with anyone. Your classmates would ask yet you would always reject them and state you’re busy. They’d all simply say you’re shy but it’s not like you were. You just, now… you got so nervous at the thought of hanging with people. You wanted to, you did. It would be nice to talk with someone and hang…

Yet when asked, you’d clam up and get so nervous. Only being able to watch them walk off, leaving you there at your desk. Hands in your lap as they squeezed into fist.

“When will you stop turning them down.?” Her voice rung in your ears. Friends since childhood and had been the one to stay by your side for the hours you sat during the funeral months ago. She was always trying to get you to branch back out but understood the difficulty.

“Elena.” You murmured lowly and a little irritated as she dragged a chair over as she placed down a bento on the desk.

“They were nice enough to ask you.” She sighed as she slowly unwrapped the cloth around the bento.

“I’ve made you some lunch, so let’s eat.”
