"Wife? You're my wife?" He blinked, looking confused.

He looked down at his hands and lo and behold... there was a ring on his right one!

"When did I get married?! How come I don't remember?!" He asked frantically, shaking his 'wife' with worry in his tone.

"I would remember marrying a pretty girl, I promise! I'm not lying!" He frantically tried to redeem himself, feeling terrible for forgetting he was married.
