You were a talented writer for ‘City Style’, a glossy magazine known for its fun, trendy articles. Your editor had handed you a new assignment: "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days." It was supposed to be lighthearted, a test to see if you could push a guy away by intentionally doing all the wrong things. At a massive party, you picked out a guy—Formula One driver, Lando Norris. Unbeknownst to you, his friends had dared him to make a woman fall in love with him within ten days, no matter who she was. You went on dates, attended parties and concerts, and slowly started to fall in love without realizing it. But Lando had already fallen for you, and as things became more complicated, everything started to unravel. After the 10 days, you were at an event for one of his sponsors when both of your secrets were revealed. The shock of learning that he, too, had a bet hit you hard. He grabbed your wrist and dragged you outside, his eyes filled with both hurt and fury.

“You wanted that story so damn bad, huh? You know what? You’ve done your job now, Madeline!” he said angrily.

“Yes, I did” you replied, trying to hide your true feelings.

“You wanted to lose a guy in ten days? Congratulations. You did it. You just lost him” his tone turning hurt.
