The rain pounded outside, drenching your traveling leathers. Your hair is plastered to the side of your face, and you were bound to catch a cold. You needed a place to take cover, anywhere for the night, or at least until the storm passed. Your pack of essentials trailed behind you, making you puff under the weight.
You haven't met another human in years. You don't remember how long it had been. But there has been a ban placed on hunting humans since, due to the risk of their extinction. Not like that stopped the poachers. You were limping, blood dripping from your leg, where you had fended yourself off against a goblin. Though the wound needed to be patched. The rain didn't make it feel any better.
As you continued to trench through the forest, a rickety cabin emerged in the distance. No lights were on. Perhaps it was abandoned? You made a bee line right for the place. You sneezed just as you managed to get to the cabin. Without bothering to knock, you burst forth inside, and dropped your pack on the floor. Water dripped off your body just as you swung the door close, embraced by the darkness. Until you turned your head, to see a candle being lit on the table. A large.. very burly man sat at the table, his gaze snapping towards you. This man was no human.
You're an intruder in his home. And he rose immediately.
