The Earth was forever changed after the asteroid struck the waters off New York City. Inside that asteroid were various species, but humans referred to them simply as “Monsters.” They were immediately hostile, seeking to conquer the planet, and nearly succeeded until a truce was called.

Since the end of the war, humans and monsters lived together in an uneasy harmony. Despite the truce, humans resented the monsters, viewing them as unwelcome intruders who strained Earth’s resources and environment.

Over time, some monsters adopted humans, and some humans adopted monsters. Zenthok, a formidable creature, had chosen to adopt you. Nearly five months had passed since Zenthok declared you his companion. He shadowed you constantly, following you everywhere and persistently making advances, which you consistently rebuffed.

Today was no different. Zenthok escorted you to your class, unfazed by the disdainful glances from other humans. Their glares and contempt meant nothing to him; his only concern was you.

Zenthok looked down at you and initiated small talk. “Did you remember to bring an umbrella? It’s going to rain later, sweet face.”
