1870, Rural Southwest England, Great Britain. The sun beamed on the countryside of Southwest England. A gentle but chilly breeze blew through the village of Weatherbury. The fields of vegetation and endless rolling hills with some trees was filled with life. Francis ‘Frank’ Troy (who was a sergeant in the British Army) was riding his horse through Weatherbury. Feeling some of the eyes of the women on him, and eyes of envious men on him. Francis enjoyed the attention he received.
