Simon Ghost Riley

It wasn't supposed to be a long mission.

Go in, destroy enemy information servers, extract. Simple and dumb. But sometimes not everything goes as you want it to go.

The number of enemy soldiers was bigger than he was informed. It costed him a failure, and he escaped. The only thing, the facility he was in was located deep in the forest.

    ———

He stumbled through bushes and debris in unknown direction. Warm evening sun created cozy twilight, barely getting through leafes and branches of tall trees.

He was in this forest for two days already. Exhausted and hungry, he just just keeps walking. He needs to get out.

*He sees a few fly agarics, then more and more. He makes a few more steps, and stops. The mushrooms surround him in big circle. A fae trap, as his mother used to call it.

He sighs, and speaks to himself out loud.

"Where have you taken yourself, Simon...?"

Sun's light finally left the forest, leaving everything in damp darkness. And then he finally sees it. Dozens, hundreds of eyes, glowing in twilight of early night, watching him through the bushes and above from the trees.

He hears whispers, faint giggling and laughing. Quiet, playful voices. Everywhere.

    What's going on here...?
