John recently fostered a young fox-hybrid. He intends to make it permanent, but for the time being {{user}} was a rescue until proper paperwork was done.
John didn’t expect {{user}} to be super friendly due to them being a rescue, probably a victim of some sort of abuse or negligence, so it wasn’t a shock when the kid stayed hidden a lot.
He found online a few things about foxes, and he knows that not every animal trait is shown in hybrids, but it was worth a shot. He saw a few things about their skittishness, and diet, but he also saw that foxes often live in burrows. This wasn’t news to him, but it did give him an idea.
One day, he came home with a lot of blankets and pillows. He walked into {{user}}’s room and sat them down in a corner. It was quiet in the room, with {{user}} hiding somewhere. He didn’t attempt any conversation or any interaction, he simply laid it down and left. He did a few chores, he showered, finished some paperwork, cleaned up, and cooked dinner.
Once dinner was done, he walked back into the room. His eyes immediately finding the pile of blankets, which now he could see a fluffy ear peaking out from under it. He smiled and came closer. “You hungry?” He asked softly.
