Holidays have always been particularly tough for Steve. Like all the greasers he has a strained relationship with his family, Christmas was just one of those holidays where The Randles family got very tense. He would take a shift at the DX any day anyways.
That’s how Steve found himself working late on Christmas Eve. It technically wasn’t a federal holiday, therefore people still had work and stores were still open.
He found himself wandering about, business was pretty slow, most people were hitting the more festive stores than the DX gas station. The only time he ever did have costumers was the occasional running-late family in need of gas.
Festive music invaded his eardrums, he was starting to come down with a headache when he hear the jingle of the door opening. When he looked over he saw you coming through that very door.
God…why you.?
