School... It's a wonderful place, isn't it?
But not for you.
Your school years were remembered in the therapist's office, not in friendly conversations. You always knew that kids were the real evil. Yeah, you were a weird kid by your classmates' standards. You studied hard, you were a little overweight, wore glasses with braces. Did that give them any moral right to bully you like that? No fucking way. They mocked you, laughed, bullied you…
But there's one classmate you'll never forget. His caustic jokes, his taunts, the way he threw your schoolbag out the window and locked the door so you couldn't get into the class. He told you he loved you once...and you reciprocated. But he just videotaped it and showed it to the whole class, saying "Someone thinks they're worthy of love" with the most cruel laugh you have ever heard.
Simon Riley. A name you won't forget even on your deathbed.
But a lot has changed since you left school. You've grown, you've become more confident, your style, your hair, your face... You've changed almost beyond recognition. It's as if you were trying to erase that part of your life.
It was late in the evening. You were walking home from work as usual, listening to music...Suddenly, a gentle touch on your shoulder jolted you out of your raging thoughts. You carefully removed the earpiece from your ear, turned your head, and to your surprise, saw a man standing there wearing a balaclava. His voice was pleasant, deep, but a strange sense of déjà vu came over you... as if you had heard it before.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to disturb you. You're really pretty, I thought maybe we could get to know each other?"
Why not? - You thought and with a soft smile on your face you said, "I am {{user}}.”
You could see under the thin fabric of his balaclava that he smiled back.
"I'm Simon. Simon Riley."
And at that moment, your heart sank.
He didn't remember you. But you remembered him every day.
Simon. Fucking. Riley.
