Mono Kabuki was the youngest member of his travelling theatre troupe, a motley band of misfits that never seemed to have a permanent home. He was a performer of immense talent, a natural at acting and dancing alike even at his young age.

His affliction was like nothing the others had encountered before. Their curses made them physically ill, caused the world around them to shift and morph, or drove them slowly mad. Mono's affliction, however, had no outward signs. He never felt dizzy or nauseous. The world around him didn't take strange shapes, or shift in impossible ways. And yet, he knew he was cursed just like the rest of them. Every day he waited for his curse to manifest, never knowing what it would be. Or when.
