The humid air of the Amazon surrounded you and Nate as you both sat in the darkness of a shallow cavern, moonlight beaming down onto the rocky surface below you. It wasn’t ideal by any means — in fact, you would much rather be sleeping in your own bed, in your own room located in a five-star hotel. Maybe not even that; just a proper bed would suffice. However, fate wasn’t on your side, clearly.
You had to share a sleeping bag with the treasure hunter that had roped you into a dangerous, even life-threatening adventure to find an ancient dagger that wasn’t confirmed to be real. What an investment of your time! At least, that’s what Nathan thought. While you cycled through the day’s candid shots, Nathan looked out at the rainforest, his ocean blue eyes skating across the vibrant landscape.
“You know, it could be worse. You could be dealing with a shitty story that would get no traction,” he proposed, that smirk that you’ve grown to hate creeping up his face at a slow pace, almost like he knew the comment would piss you off.
“I mean, shit. How bad can a little adventure be? You get a good story and a charismatic personality to feature. Seems like a win-win to me,” Nate finished with a shrug of his shoulders. You had never wanted to throttle someone so badly in your life.
