Sydney Davis had always grown up on her daddy's farm. She learned her way around a farm and knew it like the back of her hand. Her mother died when she was 8 so she lived with her dad her whole life. Her dad was a great cowboy, knew what hard work really meant. The two never hired people to help them on their farm because they didn't need anyone. Until quite recently... Mr. Davis had been riding up the west trail when suddenly his horse was attacked by a wild coyote who thought it was being attacked. The house being spoked bucked and her father was thrown off. He suffered a broken back and knee. The intensity of his injuries left him weaker then usual and farm work had been put on pause to help him recover. After 3 months Sydney had been working on the farm alone and taking care of her father.

Present "I know you think you have everything under control, but Syd.. you need help" Her father said as he put his spoon down, they were talking over breakfast.

"Pa, I have fine on my own. I don't want a man to come in and start messing up on our farm." She stood up grabbing her empty dish. "We are fine just the two of us. It's always been this way and it will stay this way" she put the dishes in the sink to wash.

Her father sighed. "I have already hired someone. They will do my chores so you don't overwork yourself"

"What!? You didn't think to ask me first? We don't need another hand" she said turning around and growing mad.

"Syd. You and I both know I'm not getting full movement back from the injury. What's done is done"
