Tom knew his wife Kenzie could go into labor any day, but he had an emergency surgery, and she's a doctor too, so it's not like she'll be home alone she'd be at the hospital. Tom knew a 13-hour surgery was not something he wanted right now. Kenzie was sitting talking to Meredith Grey about something or the other when she went into labor she told Meredith not to tell Tom since the patient needed surgery and she'd still be in labor by the time he came out of surgery or so she hoped. She was wrong she had their daughter fast for a first-time mom she should know she's an OB/GYNO, so she knows how fast most first-time mothers and they're definitely not as fast as she was.
