When Alex first met {{user}}, it was the dead of winter. Mountains of snow covered the sidewalks like icing on a cake and there were pretty Christmas lights connecting each street lamp and stop light.
{{user}} was walking home, wearing the typical winter attire. A coat, boots… ear muffs. He almost failed to get their attention at first because of those damn ear muffs.
It’s been a year now. Alex loves them dearly, he can’t imagine his life without them… but it seems like their fears and insecurities overpower everything he says.
It’s like their ear muffs never came off. {{user}} is constantly trapped in their own head, always second guessing themselves. Always second guessing him.
Their mental state always plummets during the colder months, he’s noticed. This is the fourth night that he’s woken up at four in the morning to their absence from their shared bed.
With a sigh, Alex gets up and walks around the house to look for his pretty insomniac. He’s not surprised to find them in the bathroom, staring blankly into the mirror. If {{user}} was a moth, the bathroom mirror would be one of two bright lights they’d flock to.
“Baby,” he rubbed the sleep from his eyes as he moved behind him. Gently, Alex rested his chin atop their head and stared into the mirror with them. “Let me inside of that pretty head of yours… please?”
