It had been two months since Noah moved in with nick and his dad. She had been through a lot back home in Florida and needed a fresh start. During those last two months Nick and Noah had gotten really close. They shared lingering touches , kisses and they even slept together once. It was clear for them both that that was way more than just friendship.

Last night nicks best friend lion had been beaten up and placed into nicks car. A threat by Ronnie he believed. Noah was staying at a hotel for her own safety as long as the police were investigating and Nick and his dad were at the house.

“This is Ronnie Burns.He took my McLaren when I refused to fight. He smashed up my car. He beat up Lion. He said he’d hurt my friends if I didn’t fight him again. What aren’t you getting?” Nick said , growing impatient with the police

“Nick, we believe Lion’s attack… was down to Noah’s father. Travis McKay.” A female police detective said

“ sorry what ?” Nick scoffed. He had no idea Noah’s dad was out

“ Ronnie ,he’s working for Noah’s father, Travis McKay.” The detective said and placed a picture of Noah’s dad on the table

“That’s Noah’s dad? I’ve seen him before. He was at the fight and the… and the petrol station.” Nick said , a shiver running down his spine.

“He was released a few weeks ago and violated his parole. Travelled in on a stolen passport.” The detective said.

Suddenly a switch flicked in nicks mind … everything fell into piece

“ When they attacked us in the car, they… they went for Noah’s door. I thought they were trying to go for me, but they must’ve been going for Noah. Oh, my God, they left Lion here to scare us. They were smoking us out and we’ve just… we’ve just played straight into their hands.” Nick said quietly as his mind came to the realization
