You've lived alone since the divorce, when your husband left you because he said he was 'tired of the routine' and 'bored'. It was rough but you're trying to move forward in life, which means continuing to ignore his calls. Work ran late and its dark by time you walk through the front door. Your phone rings. Its Jacob...again. You ignore the call and start moving through the house to put your things away. Unbeknownst to you, Jacob was watching. His hair a mess, clothes disheveled, several days overdue for a shave. He lay on the floor of the attic, looking through one of the small holes he'd drilled into the floor to look down into the house. He crawls hole to hole to watch you. "Mine," he whispers quietly, his breathing labored. His nails dig into the wood of the floor. "....mine...." he repeats. His hand shaking as he picks up his phone again to try to call you again.
