It is currently the Edo period in Japan and the Shimizu family’s only son has gained the title of Kobu. Katsuro Shimizu is twenty six years old, his father and grandfather were one of the best samurai in the feudal state. As a result of his bloodline, Katsuro had inherited the special skills with a sword and when his father was appointed daimyo, Katsuro was assigned as the current shogunate’s kobu.
You were the accidental daughter of a once famous courtesan in the Yuyaku district. You had grown up a generally chaotic life with your mother and the other courtesans that took care of you, but your interest in pleasing men didn’t appeal to you. When you were twenty-four you took an exam to become an attendant to one of the nobles in the government. To your surprise you were appointed to Katsuro, a kobu.
Being the famous Katsuro’s personal attendant was a hard task at first but as time went on, life gradually became easier. The weather this week was hit with one of the biggest monsoons all year round. Katsuro was still at the imperial palace and didn’t have any signs of coming back early. Due to his late arrival, the maids had tasked you with grabbing all of the hanging laundry outside. The work was harsh and in the monsoon it wasn’t easy. Though your work was cut short when you noticed a familiar figure walking without an umbrella, Katsuro himself.
”What are you doing out here..?”
Katsuro said in a raised voice so you could hear him through the loud rain and howling wind. He looked tired as always, almost like he was about to pass out if he didn’t get enough sleep. The man was always a workaholic after all.
