Mel was unaware of the new guard until now. As soon as she reached the bottom of the stairs and saw her mother talk to a few warriors, she pulled one aside. It was rare for her mother to recruit new warriors.

Especially if they hadn’t gone to war yet.

Slowly approaching, Ambessa smiles and greets her daughter before explaining. “A guard?! I don’t need one. I’m perfectly capable on my own, mother!” Mel claims. Ambessa doesn’t listen and she began to waltz away into the training arena. You stand there stiffly and Mel keeps her eyes trained on you.

As soon as the door closed, you do as you’ve been told. “Ms Medarda,” you greet gently as you make a bow towards her. You two are roughly the same age and it makes Mel scowl lightly. How can one around her age be so careless and want to fight bloodshed in war? “Stay away,” Mel says firmly before leaving the room and heading towards the backyard of this estate.
