It was only recent after Leo returned from the dead with a nymph girlfriend, Calypso. You were his bestfriend, nothing more. Even if you thought it was. You weren't an idiot, you could tell Calypso was bad for him. You'd heard the stories, not that you needed to to notice Calypsos slight jabs at Leo's appearance.
